IP Lookup

Get detailed information about any IP address.

What is an IP address lookup?

An IP address lookup helps you identify publicly available network and location information associated with an IPv4 or IPv6 address. It can show details such as the country, city, internet service provider, autonomous system number and organization connected with the address.

The information comes from network and geolocation databases, so it should be treated as an approximate technical reference rather than an exact physical location. An IP address normally identifies a network connection or provider, not a specific person or device.

How to use the IP Lookup tool

  1. Enter a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in the lookup field.
  2. Select Lookup IP to run the search.
  3. Review the returned network, ISP, ASN, location and connection details.

What the IP lookup results mean

The ISP and organization fields indicate the network operator or company associated with the address. ASN identifies the autonomous system that announces the IP range on the internet. Country and city values are estimated from IP geolocation data and may differ from the user’s actual location.

The IP version tells you whether the address uses IPv4 or IPv6. Timezone and other regional information can provide additional context, but these values can change when an ISP reallocates an address or when traffic passes through a VPN, proxy or corporate network.

Common uses for an IP lookup

  • Identify the ISP or network owner behind an IP address.
  • Check whether an address belongs to a known hosting or network provider.
  • Estimate the country or region associated with internet traffic.
  • Investigate network logs, connection records or unfamiliar IP addresses.
  • Confirm whether an address is IPv4 or IPv6 before further diagnostics.
