Domain to IP

Enter a domain name to find the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses currently associated with it.

What is a domain to IP lookup?

A domain to IP lookup resolves a hostname to the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses published in its DNS records. This is the same basic resolution process used when a browser needs to find the server responsible for a website.

A domain may resolve to one address, several addresses or different addresses over time. Cloud platforms, load balancers and content delivery networks commonly publish multiple IP addresses to distribute traffic and improve availability.

How to find a domain IP address

  1. Enter the domain or hostname you want to resolve.
  2. Run the lookup.
  3. Review the returned IPv4 A records and IPv6 AAAA records together with their TTL values.

What domain IP results mean

An A record maps a hostname to an IPv4 address, while an AAAA record maps it to an IPv6 address. Multiple results can indicate redundancy, geographic distribution, load balancing or CDN infrastructure.

The resolved address does not always identify the origin server. Reverse proxies and CDN providers can expose their own edge addresses while the actual backend server remains hidden.

Common uses for domain to IP lookup

  • Find the current server addresses used by a hostname.
  • Confirm whether a domain publishes IPv4, IPv6 or both.
  • Troubleshoot a domain that resolves to an unexpected address.
  • Compare DNS changes during a hosting migration.
  • Use the resolved IP for additional network diagnostics.
